Apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows

Benidorm is known for its high concentration of residential towers, some of them very tall, such as the Intempo, with heavily glazed façades. In apartments like these, the curtain needs to cover large surfaces without looking visually heavy or complicating everyday use.

A floor-to-ceiling window behaves differently from a conventional window: more fabric is needed, the curtain's final weight increases, and the track has to bear that weight without sagging over time. That's why, in apartments of this kind, measuring and choosing the right system matter just as much as the fabric itself.

Before proposing a solution, we assess:

• The total width of the window and whether it makes sense to split the curtain into several panels.
• The weight of the chosen fabric, especially for very wide runs.
• The side space available to stack the fabric back without covering part of the glass.
• The type of opening (usually sliding doors) and its travel.

Privacy without giving up the view

During the day, a light sheer is usually enough to soften the view from outside while keeping the light and the view. At night, with the lights on inside, that same sheer loses part of its effect and the glass acts almost like a mirror facing in.

On lower floors, apartments close to other buildings, or very exposed bedrooms, we usually recommend combining the sheer with a second layer or a blackout fabric for times when more privacy is needed. On higher floors, with no nearby buildings at the same height, it can be enough to reinforce just the bedroom and keep the living room more open during the day.

Which fabric works best in a very bright apartment

On façades heavily exposed to the sun, it's worth considering technical fabrics that help filter the heat without fully darkening the living room. A fabric that's too light can be insufficient against several hours of direct sun, while one that's too dense can darken a space bought precisely for its brightness.

Motorisation for large-format windows

In many tower apartments, everyday access to the curtain isn't always convenient: very wide windows, sliding doors onto the terrace, or curtains opened several times a day. A motorised track makes handling easier and reduces wear on the fabric from frequent use, especially when the curtain is heavier than usual owing to its large dimensions.

Keeping a consistent look throughout the apartment

When the living room connects to the kitchen or terrace through runs of windows, it's worth treating the whole area as a single visual unit rather than solving each opening separately. Repeating the same fabric or the same make-up across several sections helps the apartment feel larger and more coherent.
